Projects
Students begin work on their required science projects. Approximately 60 senior status students will be researching, completing experiments and presenting their results to a panel of judges.
A group of junior and senior students will be participating in a field trip to the University of Toledo Medical Center campus. Here they will have the opportunity to tour the facility, hear lectures from researchers and staff and learn about job opportunities available in the medical field.
Students will be conducting forensic experiments and investigating various anatomical diseases for projects.
Students who are potential graduates will be completing and filing FAFSA (federal financial aid ) forms, scholarship application forms and applications for college admittance.
Classroom Policies
Please see your copy of the Anatomy and Physiology, Forensics and Special Projects Syllabus' for classroom policies. Absence policies
will not be altered. It is extremely important for students to be present for classes as competition deadlines are crucial. Lab classwork cannot be made up. Students need to be in attendance in order to pass their class.
Curriculum
Curriculum for Anatomy and Physiology follows the Ohio Department of Education Guidelines for Life Sciences.
Curriculum for Forensics follows the Ohio Department of Education Guidelines for Science.
Curriculum for Special Projects follows the Ohio Department of Education guidelines. We will cover many of the Benchmarks and Indicators for 8th through 12th grade level Science, Language Arts, Visual Arts, Social Studies and Computer Technology.
Some students will also be reviewing and preparing for the Ohio Graduation tests in Science and Mathematics.
TUTORING FOR OGT
Tutoring will be on an individual basis by appointment. Available tutoring times will be posted in the Special Projects room. If you sign up for tutoring and cannot make it for that tutoring session, you must call and notify me. Missing 2 tutoring sessions will automatically place you on the bottom of the tutoring list. This is a free service offered to students.
