Independent Study ~ All students at GCA will write a research paper as part of their graduation requirements. The potential graduates for January 2010 will begin working on their papers at the end of October. Students are allowed to write on a topic of their choosing. However, I reserve the right to deny a topic based on its appropriateness for high school level writing. The writing will not be considered finished or graded until it has gone through a formal review. The following is a list of the steps students are expected to complete:
1. Prewriting
2. Topic approval
3. Casebook with at least 6 outside resources that have been highlighted and annotated
4. Thesis statement
5. Outline or graphic organizer
6. All required drafts
7. Final paper in MLA format
mla format
