Dear Glass City Academy Parents and Students:

Obviously, this school year has been like no other, and Glass City Academy remains dedicated to providing your students with the best possible education and route to graduation.  Given the restrictions that the State Government has placed on schools, things have been a little different this year.  To that effect, I want to let you know what Glass City Academy is doing for graduation this school year.

First, I would just like to say that all graduates of the Class of 2021 will be invited to any future ceremony which GCA will put on, whether specifically for the Class of 2021, or for any future classes.  We are committed to providing them with a traditional ceremony regardless of how long we must wait to make it happen.

Second, in order to get to our 2021 graduates their diplomas, we will be holding a Drive-By Ceremony on June 7th from 12 Noon to 2PM at the District Office at 123 10th Street, Toledo, OH 43604 (Same building as GCA Downtown).  Cars are to proceed East on Jefferson Ave, turn Right/South-bound on 10th Street, and pull up to the District Office Doorway.  Everyone must remain in their cars, before, during, and after the GCA Graduate receives their diploma.  Cars are then to proceed to Monroe and turn right.  Graduates are encouraged to wear their caps & gowns to the ceremony.

Third, Caps & Gowns may be picked up from the each school building from 9am to 2PM, Monday-Friday starting Monday, May 17th.  In order to receive a Cap & Gown you must have either already paid $25, or you may pay that day.  Only Cash or checks will be accepted.  Yard signs may also be picked up at that time.

Fourth, if you are not sure if you are qualified to graduate, please get in touch with your school counselor, or director, to verify your eligibility to graduate.

I wish you all the best, stay safe, and I look forward to seeing all our graduates on June 1st!

Stewart B. Jesse, Superintendent
